Top 10 Reasons to Attend the Johnny/Tommy VO Workshop

Johnny and I are doing a thing!

For a long time, Johnny Heller and I have been throwing around the idea of producing a voiceover workshop together. It's FINALLY happening!!!

On Saturday April 30th from 1-5 pm ET at TheatreLab in Manhattan, Johnny and I are hosting an in-person voiceover workshop. Here's the agenda...

1:00 PM: Introduction to Voiceovers in General and Audiobooks in Particular

2:00 PM: Voiceover Business Basics

3:00 PM: Voiceover Marketing Basics

4:00 PM: eLearning Basics

4:45 PM: Q&A + a Special Introduction!

And why should you bother showing up...?

I'll give you ten reasons!

  1. Tom Dheere. You know me already so I won't bore you with my credentials.

  2. Johnny Heller. Johnny is an award-winning audio book narrator with over 1,000 titles under his belt and has won pretty much every award you can win for audio book narration. He's also been a voiceover coach for many years and both spoken at and produced many voiceover workshops. And he's a mensch. Go to www.johnnyheller.com to learn more about him.

  3. It's in person. Yes, an actual live event! We know that many of you are suffering from Zoom fatigue and are climbing the walls to get out in public so now's your chance. For those of you who aren't ready for an in-person experience or live too far way, we are working on having the workshop recorded (no promises!) so stay tuned.

  4. It's in New York City. NYC in the spring is a beautiful thing. The workshop will be at TheatreLab on 36th Street in Manhattan. It's just a few blocks from Port Authority Bus Terminal and Penn Station so it's easy to get to. That means you're close to Times Square, Broadway, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Macy's, Hudson Yards, The Highline, and many other wonderful attractions. Make it a weekend getaway with the family!

  5. Great for all levels of experience. While the thrust of the workshop will be on introducing people to the world of voiceovers, any voice actor will get something out of it. Something like...

  6. Explore new genres. Johnny is a master of audiobook narration and I have been narrating eLearning modules for 25 years. We will discuss what makes these genres special and share tips & tricks.

  7. Get live coaching. A lucky few will be randomly selected to get coached on the spot. We will be providing copy but you're welcome to bring your own.

  8. Meet fellow voice actors to network with and make friends. There will be lots of lovely people to rub elbows with at both the workshop and the Happy Hour we're hosting after the workshop (details TBA).

  9. Attendees gets coaching discounts. After the workshop, we will email all attendees coupon codes which give you 10% off on your next coaching session with both of us. Not at the same time, though. We don't gang-coach, just gang-present. And yes you can use the coupon codes with both of us which means you get 10% off on TWO coaching sessions!

  10. Fun! Johnny and I are two of the sillier people you will ever meet and we guarantee you'll have a great time. Here, I'll prove it to you...!
